ThredCloud history.

ThredCloud grew out of a long-term collaboration between Bob van de Kuilen and Hamish Scott's decades‑long frustration with the gap between “lots of data” and real‑world behaviour change in factories. After years in consulting and industrial digital projects, they saw the same pattern repeat: powerful systems, impressive dashboards, but teams still guessing in meetings because the context behind the numbers was missing.

ThredCloud started by helping organisations turn hard‑to‑reach industrial data into usable information; ThredCloud is the next step - using knowledge graphs and AI to make that context instantly explorable so operators, engineers, and leaders can finally ask the questions they care about in natural language and get answers they can act on.

ThredCloud and Ignition.

ThredCloud is built to complement Ignition. We’re proud to be part of their partner ecosystem and are working closely with the Ignition team and community to show what’s possible when OT data is turned into a live knowledge graph.

Ignition provides the powerful, modern runtime on site; ThredCloud adds the industrial knowledge layer on top, making it easier for factories and integrators to ask deeper questions of their data and get operational answers in plain language.
